Ang’s Rants and Raves

Yesterday I was getting off the highway and turning right to get into a left turn late right away.  The car ahead of me decides to go through a yellow light so his car is sticking out into another lane…. what does he do? Start backing up… I can’t move, the guy behind me is right on my butt at the traffic light and I’m laying on my horn, flashing my brights for him to stop! he got inches from me and finally did… sheesh!

We have two roundabouts to get to our school.. every morning its a challenge because the high school students just don’t seem to “get it”..  however, this morning a big grey truck didn’t “yield” when i had the right away and almost plowed into me as i’m trying to slow down on the icey curve…

the last thing I need is for someone to hit me right now… i could not afford to get a new car so i hope i’m not jinxing myself!  crazy drivers–stay off the road please!!!!

The weekend went by fairly fast, but today doesn’t feel like its only Monday!  I have training Wed-Friday but i think it’ll make stuff drag as its really boring stuff

I saw I am Legend on Friday and didn’t realize how scary it really is!!! I jumped a bunch of times, and didn’t realize it was a zombie movie!… Kevin thought it was awesome…i thought it was good, but don’t think I’d see it again as it gave me nightmares all weekend….

I had a babysitting job on saturday night.   A new generation of princess parties have been born! I’ve been wanting to make a school shirt for some time, so I went and got a shirt for Leah at Michael’s for $3.99.  It’s a little more messier when a second grader crafts a shirt.. (we ran out of red glitter, and I had a different type, but it didn’t look as good)…but we wore our princess tiara’s and than watched angelina ballerina afterward…it went by pretty fast and I made good money!! If I could do that once a week, that’d be awesome!!!

Sunday I drove to Saginaw and fought with Mom about the wedding stuff—and to think we were doing SO good for a long time.  The constant battle of not having beer/wine there has been annoying.  I told her that she’s going to have to get over it, cuz we are not changing our mind and it seems to create more drama.  Grandma also has been adding fuel to the fire with wanting 20 more people for me to invite which I told her if she wanted them there, she’d have to pay for them cuz we are now at a whopping 250 for invites and HAVE to cut down..

Anyway, now I’m back at work and its still going pretty slow… we’ve got monday off next week and the kids don’t have school next friday either, so it’ll be February before I know it!!!

It’s only Thursday! This week has been pretty slow!  Monday was really hard to get out of bed after sleeping in so much, but I’m starting to get readjusted to the 5:45a.m. alarm clock!  I’m glad tomorrow is Friday tho! 

I’ve been working out at the rec every other day and doing the other days at home with my weight and pilates DVD.  I used my Target gift card and bought 5 pound weights.  Wow.  Going from 3 pounds to 5 was really rough! I was really sore most of the week from it! and that one is only a 30 minute video! (25 of weights).   I do feel like its helping by moving the weights up, but its really hard to do the last few reps on each move and I want to die!

I was at the gym the other day and all the elipticals were full, so I had to go on the treadmill.  I’ve never read anything while I worked out, but there was a cosmo magazine on it already.  I read almost the whole magazine and was in shock at how fast the time went by.  The magazine covers up the time, so you just kinda press and go!  i finally looked at how much time i had left when i was 35 minutes into and then again at the 50 minute mark. 

The mag had a article for a weight loss diet pill called cuur.  It said it was for those wanting to lose those last 10 pounds…. out of curiousity I went to the website, www.cuur.com.  I can’t believe it.  The active ingrediate contains green tea extract (which is also in dexatrim–which is caffine and why just one dose made my heart beat so fast i thought i was having a heart attack!!).  It says that in one day, its like drinking 14 cups of coffee!!! 14!!!! how the heck is that legal??? I couldn’t believe it… I wonder if anyone has died yet from taking it. 

Other than that its been a rush trying to get all the wedding plans done these days.  We finished our save the date template at shutterfly.com and hope to get those out in the next couple weeks… we also started a wedding website (www.steveandangie.org) which I’m currently working on while its been super slow at work.. we have a lot to add to it yet, but Masha found us a promo code and it was 50% off to do it, so I thought why not.  We also registered at Target and Bed/Bath this weekend… wow.  talk about 3 hours!!! I still didn’t get some kitchen stuff scanned because the store was closing!  luckily I can search and add stuff right online instead of having to go back in~! :)

We have been emailing the wedding coord back and forth and was hoping to put the majority of deposits on the CC, but it doesn’t work that way internationally…. you have to do bank transfers and whatnot….phew… what a pain trying to find a bank to do that!! I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end having to eat ramon noodles again for the next few years

I’ve been taking a hair and nail vitamin for about a week now.  I’m finally noticing my nails have grown fast! not only fast, but really strong! I have had a bad habit of tearing my nails & they have been so strong, I can’t!!! I also noticed yesterday when I pulled my hair back in a ponytail the sides of my hair aren’t showing my scalp as much… sometimes I wonder if its in my head, but hopefully that means that even if my hair isn’t all growing back, that it at least looks stronger….

Now its back to the grind… of updating our wedding site.. this is going to take awhile!

Yup, just like I thought! I got my allergy shot on Wednesday and the scratchy throat nose stuff is gone!!! Crazy!!!  I went in and worked a few hours today.. the nice thing about this is that i like my job…so even tho my break has been great and done I dont’ dread going in on monday like I use to with my UM job.  Ahh.

Another step–dress has been fitted, and Mom booked my bridal shower for Sunday May 4th! Yay!!  I also went and bought some hair nail and skin vitamins at GNC this week.  So, I”m going to try those twice a day for awhile.  Weird thing is my hair is thinning in weird spots.  The right side of my bangs are thin, but then when you look at the hair line behind my ears, only the right side is thin.  There is no other medication that I can take for an ulcer.  There are only three drugs on the market: prilosec, prevacid and nexium, and all three are just competitors so if one does it to me, the other will too.  Oh yeah, I stopped taking it cold turkey too and see what my gastro dr. says.  I haven’t had any side effects on that to date….

Now on to the fun stuff… we are going to register at target tonight! yay!!! 

I’m really hoping this writers strike ends soon… tv REALLY sux these days….

my new cut!

I have to admit, this time off has been soooo fabulous.  Two weeks off is way better than 1.  The first week was all Christmas stuff and now we are finally to the relax, chill, and do nothing days.  The last five days Steve and I have slept in until 11 or even 12pm.  I haven’t done that since college!!! Stayed up later and later, and not doing a damn thing.  We didn’t even leave the house on Sunday and I stayed in my pj’s the whole time.   We bought our plane tickets from LA to Auckland and back to get the big “chunk” of money spent out of the way.  My hair is thinning again becuz of my prevacid–its going in my bangs area and sides of my face, and so a trip to mindy was necessary.  Even tho I”ve always wanted “long” hair for the wedding since I’ve been born, I had to convince mindy to just chop my hair off.  I needed to feel better.  She didn’t think it’d look better, but guess what?? I have a crop full of bangs and shorter style, and it looks 90% better.  I know how my hair goes and it really needed the chopping.  So I did it… I ordered  clip on extensions for the wedding.  Yup,  a big fat chunk of change, but it is real hair, and so it’ll last me…i can wear it when I go out and not just for the wedding too!  Jessica Simpson sponsors them…

Anyway, other than purchasing those two big huge things, we wait for our wedding coord to press the button on june 24th, and then we should be close to getting everything done!!!  I”ve been battling a weird cold since Sunday.. we happen to get rid of the real xmas tree and needles flew everywhere when we moved it on saturday–so I suspect the mold is my problem.  It’s been a weird faint sore throat with my nose being really dry–like a sore is in my right nostril.  I had to wait to get my allergy shot bcuz of the holidays and i can really tell when it wears off!!! I’m going to get that done today as well as buy some shoes for my wedding day today.  Yup, another purchase.  Deep breaths!

I am also working my ass off with pilates DVD’s.. after 3-4 weeks I started noticing my pants fitting better and my ass getting a shape!!! It has been two months to the day that I gave up fast food and only cheated twice.  Laura and I are going to take a hard core body sculpting class to help too so by the time june comes i’ll be ready!!!
 

I went back to the doctor today, my new one in Saline.  It’s amazing the difference in care.  This doctore reminds me of how my old doctur USE to be–takes your time with you, answers all your questions, even draws things out for you… my other doctor use to be like that than in the last few years started making me feel rushed and come in and out fast…

anyway, she got my records from my old doctor.. and wants me to go to a gastro doctor for my ulcer due to the “severity” of the test results… wow.  I had no idea my ulcer was THAT bad, my old one just blew it off and sent me on my way… i’ve been back on the prevacid again and noticed in the last 3 days that my hair is thinning AGAIN…that bald spot on my right side is back….i asked her about that and she said “oh yeah, that can happen in a small % of people.”.. well!! wtf??? ther’es nothing i can do about it?? i just get to be bald for the wedding??? Ugh

So i made my appointment with the GI doctor and can’t wait to get this over with… just when I felt like my hair was starting to come back to life (even steve noticed a month ago) and now i’m back where I was… now i’m starting to think it wasn’t the BC after all and it was this crap… *sigh*

anyway, i’m just sad today now.  I feel like I’m just treading water and want this thing to go away.  I’ve become obsessed again with my hair and it sucks… i feel like everyone can see my bald spots again and that was no fun this summer..

I can’t believe that they cancelled school last night!  I can get a ton of stuff done today which is awesome, but then there’s the little part of me that says “crap, now the next check will only be 4 days of work”.  It really sucks trying to slide through the holidays when car insurance is also due in January.  UGH!  But I’m up early this morning to do my workout tapes, go to the dry cleaners, allergist, and go to meijer to get all the stuff I Need to bake with to make my cupcake snowmen. 

I was one of the crazy drivers who went out last night to get pizza.  Jimmy Johns wouldn’t deliver and Tios was closed.  I’ve been sick of pizza (been getting a lot of it for free lately). Anyway, needless to say, my awesome car sliced through one of the side streets here.  I’m really impressed. As I got to the main roads, cars were stuck ALL over the place!  Every side street for about a mile had at least one car stuck in the snow!  I honestly can’t believe my car just got right through it, but I also spent a lot more on snow tires which last night had paid off.  Everything looks so pretty.  I”m not a big fan of “winter” but I do like the “snow storms”.  The xmas lights looked awesome with a white layer over it!  Maybe I need to live in Colorado, cuz I’d much prefer snow than just “cold”.

Steve shoveled the driveway yesterday.  We got 9 inches over here.  The problem with our driveway is that there is just nowhere to put the snow.  We have the side of the house on one side and our next door neighbors on the other (with nothing in between).  So its either shovel to the back yard and then scoop up and put it in the front yard–a lot more “carrying” than it should be.. luckily we went to Justin’s party in Lansing so my car didn’t have as much snow as his was barried!!

So its been a nice longggg weekend.  I am looking forward to two weeks off as work has realllly slowed down. There’s only so much majong solitaire I can play really before I want to give up!

I hate hearing sirens and two big fire trucks speed by this time of year….. i hope everything is OK….
