All is lost

I just dropped my piano class.   I have too many bills to take care of and after wanting to save up for my trip to australia over christmas, it was either arizona or piano, so the first won.  It makes me sad, but I have a feeling I just won’t have the time or the energy to go out to school and practice. She said that if a band or choir was in town that they would have full use of the piano, too so I”m not sure how often it’d be used on a first come/first serve basis….  I guess I”ll just have to go home more to Saginaw and practice on my gool ole’ out of tune standby! I’m sad right now but will have to get over it.  I miss my old job terribly.  I miss seeing my regular students who would come by just to say hi and I miss my family in my department.   My Aunt told me that everyone needs to have a job they hate so they can apreciate other ones more down the road.  Good advice?

Working it

Last night as I left work with my annoying headache, I got to the chiro and he said my neck was swollen and to alternate every 10 min. of cold and hot. Sorry! Too busy today!  Went to Aerobics with Sarah.  The girl went real fast, for first class–It was more like 20th! Anyway, I forgot to bring my weights and I dont have a matt–guess I’ll have to get one sooner than later now.  The funds are depleting with my $207.00 heating bill and $400 car insurance this month, I’m really having to watch what I do this week.  Anyway, I think the class would help if it was more than once a week, but I’m going to *try* to do the weights on my own so I’ll at least notice something w/in the next few months.  Congrats to Sarah on the weight loss.  I’m proud of you!!!  I got home, and fixed my Porchsleeper shirt so I can wear it and have all the guys sign it on Saturday as they play the last gig with Zac.  So guys–anyone know a good bass player??  Tonight is zoos of berlin with amy and then I’m crashing at her place.  Mindy is coming tomorrow to go to a trunk show, and I’m going to see if I can invite myself along as pure curiousity sake.  I’ve never been to one.  And since I’m off tonight, I *have* to work out saturday and sunday even if it kills me.  And somewhere in the midst of all this, I have to find time to drive out to WCC and practice…sha!! When did I become so busy?? I have turned into my boyfriend.  Monday Steve is playing in SAginaw and Tuesday, my friend Neal’s band, Deep Blue Underground, is playing at the Pig!!! Looks like Wed. will be my only day off!

Sun for a day

I can’t believe that its going to be 50 degrees today!  The sun is out right now which is so refreshing, if I could just get rid of my migraide.  I had it when I went to bed last night and I woke up with it this morning *blah*.  I hope the Dr. can put me back together at 4 so I can have a good time working out.  I start my cardio class with Sarah in Northville. I’m glad its a class. It’ll make me go because someone is expecting me to be there.  It’s not fun that WCC doens’t have any PE courses since they don’t have a gym. I didn’t even know that still existed these days–with the world being so fit and health conscious.  I was in and out of sleep last night while watching the Biggest Loser and it really inspired me.  I had a trainer last March for free bcuz he thought I was cute, but ended up not being good since I woke up one morning to get up out of bed and fell right to the ground in pain. I had tendanitis in my calves.  I had to be carried to the hospital and told that the pain is worse than someone breaking their leg and I believe it.  Since than working out has been a little more difficult as I feel my calves getting tender more than I use to. …or its a sign of old age.  I’d like to blame him. :).  I’m not THAT old yet.  Anyway, thats about it to report. Can’t wait to see what my class is about! and if anyone in the AA area wants to take a spin, aerobic, weight training, circuit training class I’m your girl.  I’ll be willing to travel :) I can’t wait for spring so I can get my bike out!!!!

nothing new

I don’t have much to report today.  I love it tho when I was told at 8:15a.m. that I look really tired.  I went to bed at a decent hour, but I remember the days of being in bed by 10:30 are almost non-existant since I’ve moved to Ann Arbor.  It’s been real hard for me to get up in the mornings these days. I really blame the weather.  Winter is my least favorite season.  No sun, lucky enough to only have a few snow storms, and did I mention no sun? :).

Last night I made spaghetti and potato’s and Steve and I watched another episode of Season 4’s Six Feet Under.  The entire show is brilliant.  If you’ve EVER experienced a death in your life, you *need* to watch this show.  Well, even if you haven’t, its still good! :).  Thats about as exciting as it gets.  I can’t think of a thing to say, I’d rather be at home snuggled in my warm bed.

Gettin back on track

Yesterday I got out of work and went to the rec.  I lucked out with my timing as I only had to wait 2-3 min. for a machine.  Sometimes I just don’t get how a huge school can have so many students and only 50 machines.  There was 5-6 people waiting after I was on for about 5 minutes.  I went on for 45 minutes and did 3.8 miles. I would have gone until 4, but there was so many ppl waiting I felt bad and got off a machine.  Hopefully this isn’t going to be like this for the whole semester. I’m kinda regretting getting a membership at the rec.  I didn’t realize they don’t have weights (or free weights) and no matts around so I can do my crunches.  I have hardwood floors at home, so it looks like I may have to purchase one!  I’m trying to get fit before Phoenix so I won’t pass out on Heather when we go hiking.

Anyway, than I was off to my first class of Piano.  The minute I walked in the building it felt like i was home again.  With choirs in the background and a room full of musicians playing a piece, ahhhh.  It was like being back in high school band.  Then I get to the room full of pianos (of course electronic, which I’m not a big fan of–you just don’t get the “feel” of a piano).  The instructor is teaching his first class.  I should have just said I”ve never touched a piano before, but no, I had to tell him I played for 12 years and quit out of frustration of having to compete so much, that I walked away from it all and now i’m a little rusty and just trying to get back on the bike.  So now he wants me to play/practice things that I use to play.  *sigh*.  All of that stuff is back at home with Mom.  I’m not in the class to “show off” i’m in there because I have completely icky when it comes to reading my bass notes and I just want to re-learn it all.  Not show off my talent and “jam” to Amazing Grace as everyone in the class plays it with one note, and he wants the ones who know how to play to “improv” to it.  Thats not what I’m there.  I want to stick with this but I’m afraid I may have to drop.  He was not aware you could practice at the school, and I have no access to a keyboard :(.  Hopefully Amy has a solution since she took the class and I don’t think owns a keyboard… more updates to come.

Last night we watched how a man discovered the secret of the game show “Press your luck” and walked away with over $100,000.  He had figured out the two squares that never got a whammy ..  It was very very good, and highly recommended if you are watching TV one night and tune into the Game Show network!

My first blog.

Yay! I finally signed up for a blog. I’ve been keeping a journal since 2000, but with the way Geocities is, I have decided to retire it and start here. So this may be more of a journal, but who cares. I dont know how many people will actually read this.

Ok, I’m going to start ranting because I’m quiet irritated in the last two days and must let out my frustrations.  Two years ago, I purchased a Best Buy Reward Zone card for $9.99.  At that time, every $125 you spend, you would receive a $5 gift coupon to use at best buy in the mail.  Since I purchased a quiet big expense of a computer, I thought hey, cool I’d get over $100 back.  It has worked quiet well, as I purchased my car stereo there as well–mind you giving Best Buy all my business when i purchased everything from cd’s to books to dvd’s.

Switching to this year, I was auto renewed for free sometime in August I believe.  In June, I had purchased a digital camera.  I had double your points coupon that I received in the mail–not too shabby.  I’d get $35. In September, I still hadn’t received it and called them to complain.  The lady said the guy did it wrong and I did not get double my points, fixed it and said they would be on their way to me in 4 weeks.  Mid-November approchces and I have still yet to receive it.  I call again–no explanation as to why they weren’t in my hands.  The lady said to set it up so that it is emailed to me–its the fasted way. 7-10  days instead of 4 weeks–they had my correct email the entire time.  After all I was getting all their wonderful junk email from reward zone AND best buy info.

Weeks pass….nothing.  I log into best buy and says “mail undeliverable” please call.  They tell me that my email is getting sent back.  *laugh* so I get alllll the nice crap email but not the certificates.  She said she would resend and it’d take another 7-10 to get the email.

7 days later, nothing over email. I call them 12/27.  Pure frustration the lady says “oh no, it takes over 2 weeks to get the email”  TWO WEEKS TO SEND ME AN EMAIL? Mind you the lady barely spoke English.

I get on the phone with the manager.  “Ok, we will switch you back to getting it post office delieved instead of email, you’ll get by the end of the week”. Two days later, I get my coupons.

After months of wanting to purchase an ipod, my day had finally arrived. I go to the store last night, the girl scans the coupons and “Coupons cancelled”.  OH MY GOD.  now i’m pissed.  The girl calls for me the “reward zone people” and they explain that i had those cancelled back in dec. to get ones reissued—i got on the phone angry VERY VERY angry to explain that not ONCE in the last two months was post office mail ever said to me..it was all EMAIL. EVerything was emailed to me.  So therefore when I called to complaint o the manager, he never said ‘i’m cancelling ones that were sent to you. ” or i would have said “well hold off then!”

So now my new batch should come next week or so.  UGH.  NEVER again am I stepping foot in that store. Not only did they switch there way of doing things, they also now made it $150 for every $5. I just dont spend that much in a year.  NEVER again.  I don’t believe all this email crap that they kep ttelling me for months.  I dont have them on my spam list–how the heck am i getting all the junk mail but how convienent not my money.

OK, i’m done.  I’m about ready to write to corporate.  Thanks for reading this far.
