My trip.

I had a blog all typed out. Read an email and clicked on a link and it immediately didn’t open a new browser but went out of this one and couldn’t get my writing back! Darn it!  Just to highight a few things:

thursday:

  • Flew in and passed Jessica because I was so focused on “baggage claim” signs.
  • Drove around Downtown Phoenix, ASU, and area since Heather hadn’t landed from Denver
  • Ate Taco Bell at Jess’s house while kitties watched :). Olly and Tumbleweed loved watching me eat.
  • Toured Jess’s house and met husband Andrew
  • Went to Heather’s apartment around 11:30ish and crashed.

Friday:

  • Slept in, had horrible neck ache, made chiropractor appointment
  • Michigan laws prohibit “theraputic” stuff, but AZ doesn’t. Got electric shocks in my back for 10 minutes, had an ultrasound done on my neck and got deep neck massage from dr. before I got adjusted.  Assistant kept flirting with Heather and I.
  • Damage: $88.  I’m thinking he must have been “out of network” for my BCBS insurance :( that wasn’t fun, however, my neck felt OODLES. better.
  • Went to the Good Egg for brunch.
  • Went home to shower, heather did my makeup.  Went shopping for an hour, but out of time.
  • Got to show.  Lots of people! Heather got tipped from will-call person to go through bar/lounge (get seated quicker)
  • Got second row Center.  Stage was a circle. Chairs were cirled around it.  Stage would rotate 180 degrees but since not a lot were there, it didn’t that night.
  • Rumors flying boy with black hat, red shirt was Elijah Woods.  He was dancing around like nuts entire show.  Girl from first band was standing next to him afterwards and making out with her.  He’s VERY short and has big bushy eyebrows. An older lady made him stop to pose for a pic right in front of us–still was in denial it was him, even tho he smiled at us and mouthed “hi”.
  • Exited the venue, “elijah wood” sat on the steps…i walked right near him (his back right near my left foot) I stared at him, and said “no I dont think thats him”
  • Tegan and Sara opened with my favorite song, Living Room.
  • Cake performed until midnight. –not too bad–not really into their music. Opened with cover song and ended with “your never there” (not sure if thats the title)
  • Went back by tour bus’s and baricades.  Absolutely NO security.  Waited by bus on other side of place where other ppl were.  John, lead singer of Cake, went by bus.  Stopped  about 10 feet away.  Heather and I weren’t there to see him.  I just said “good show” and he said “thanks” and just stood there.  We didn’t know what to do. It looked like he thought we were there to see him or something.  He tried to get in the tour bus but it was locked.  I laughed and said “looks like they locked you out!” and he said “nah I’ll get in eventually”  Stood there some more…didn’t say anything and then finally someone let him in the bus.
  • Decided to go on the other side of the bus’s to stand.  One other guy was standing there that confirmed again that it was indeed Elijah Wood. He is dating girl in band, Gogol Bordello.  Oops! Shoulda got an autograph!
  • Guy waves at Heather and I (We turn around, nobody else around)..walks over… drummer

Angie: Are you the drummer for cake?

Drummer: Yup

Heather: You look a lot shorter close up!

Drummer: (laughs) Thanks!

…pause…more of a pause….

Angie: (not sure what to say).  Will you sign my ticket?

Drummer: Sure!

Heather: My boyfriend really likes cake.

Angie: My boyfriend is a drummer…not knowing what to say again, asks for picture.

Heather: Hey do you kjnow when Tegan and Sara come out?

Drummer:  (I’m sure feeling awesome right now) Not sure, but they are in the green room. ……Well, I guess I’d better go. I hope you girls liked the show.

A&H: Thanks.

hour passes. its FREEZING out.  We decide to drive over the other side where a few others are standing.  10 min later about 12:30a.m. they come out.

Tegan comes up first. I thanked her for playing Living room and she says “of course!” and I told her I flew all the way to Michigan to see them. She asked me where I was from….that they had shows closer and heather commented that I already been to all those and Tegan asked where I was from and what I did. Heather told her they were very inspiring and got her CD signed. I got my ticket signed and awesome pictures   Tegan said that she expected it to be warmer out in Az and I said “me too”.  Talked about flight and how i was nervous and she said “oh i’m sure you did fine”.  Sara finally came over and I thanked her too for playing Living room and we talked about the chicago show when she passed out from the heat and said “you were there!”.  than got pictures … didn’t get to talk to Sara as much because at that point, a car was trying to get passed the baracades so we had to hurry and take a picture before we left.

Got home and talked about T&S songs and played their CD and heather became a fan and said “they could easily be my favorite band right now”.  we talked until 3:22a.m. (5:22 Michigan time).

Saturday:

  • Woke up early, ate Mcd’s, picked up Wesley (dog) and went to sedona
  • Hiked about 4 miles. Lots of ice, snow, and “brrrr” cold.
  • Drove through red rocks and cliffs and visited Indians selling jewlrey.
  • Drove home and listened to The Bee Keeper (tori)
  • Called Jess to meet at mexican place for dinner.
  • Met Jess and ate hot salsa and choked from hotness.
  • got done around 9pm.  Crashed at 10:30 since I was exhausted.

Sunday:

  • Had Breakfast with Heather and Gregg
  • Went to Scottsdale and shopped for a couple hours. Ate at Sbarro’s and went back to airport.
  • Drove around looking for a cactus so I could get my picture taken for steve’s desktop.
  • Flew out at 4:13. Lots of turbulance so I was freaking out and took tylenol pm.  SO TIRED I could barely get in the car to go home:)

Monday:

  • Tired. exhausted. and its freeeezin’ out!

bored out of my mind

10:35a.m. Thursday morning.  I am dying of trying to think of what else I can surf on the internet today.  Thank god I don’t have to work tomorrow. It’s not even that I’m leaving for somewhere–just so I don’t have to live w/another 8 hrs of pure and uninterrupted boredom!

Steve and I went to Olive Garden last night for dinner and overstuffed ourselves with salad, spaghetti, and sangria.  The BEST berry sangria I have ever tasted.  (Even my Mom likes it, and she disguts any type of alcohol).

We than went and saw Brokeback Mountain.  I have a few mixed emotions about it.  I like it, but there are parts of the story where I felt a little yawning coming along.  It seemed to take awhile to get down to the plot and what was happening.  It was definately worth seeing, I’d give it a 3 1/2 star rating. Oh yah and bring the tissues!  The scenery is also amazing!

Tonight I’m flying in to Phoenix at 9:45pm.  I haven’t heard from Heather yet what is  happening with their flight as she doesn’t fly in until 11:20pm.  (1:20 michigan time).  I think I’m going to be a little tired on that front of it!  I asked a pharmacist if there was anythin i could take for anxiety and he suggested a good stiff drink! :). But I think I’ll just take a tylenol PM 1/2 hour before take off so that way I can calm my nerves a little and hopefully make the time go by a little faster.  I’m not one on plane food (as most know my picky eater side) so I’m hoping to grab something on the way to the airport!

Thats about all I can think of for now.  I just wish I was not at work today as its sunny outside and anywhere but here just sounds soooooooooooo much better.

Not much to blog about.

My friend Sarah recently posted a blog about how far do you go on one’s blog without it becoming a journal–or letting the whole world knowing whats been going on in your life–very interesting points!  I feel as if I know why I’m keeping personal in my own journal at home for nobody to see.  I like having this “journal/blog” just to go back and reflect upon things.  I have one on geocities that dates back to 2000 and me being in college and thinking “oh thats right! that did happen!”.  However, I do know where my limits are on the very personal aspects of my life.

On another note, 28 hours or so from now I will be at the airport fumbling my way to my seat on the plane.  I’m a little nervous about flying as I have not been watching the news to hear of any planes going down in Bermuda.  I know the last time I was on a plane for 21 hrs (with stops in between to boot) and the last hour there was engine trouble and we kept nose diving and it scared the crap outta me.  so… here’s to hoping I land safely with two feet on the ground.  Weather report showing 65 degrees so here’s hoping!

I’ll try and post some pic’s on here once I get back. It’ll be interesting to see how this flickr and blog thing coinside with each other!  I packed up pretty much everything last night so I can spend my last day in Michigan with my man. :)

Stupid janitors

I’m mad so I must blog.  Yesterday Steve and I went to a place called Tios for lunch.  They had these big plastic cups that if you buy one, you can then refill for something like 25 cents.  I got back to my office and left it setting by my phone on my desk.  I came into work this morning and saw that my trash was emptied from the janitors and they also ditched my tios cup!!!!! What the ??? it wasn’t in the trash, it wasn’t even near it.  Not only that, they took my Sam’s Water bottle, that I like to refill here as well.  That is NOT as big of a deal, but I don’t think thats right either.  If its not in the trash, then it shouldn’t be touched.  Thats all I have to say for today. :)

Day 20

Day 20 and no word from Best Buy.

All over milk and eggs

It’s rather frustrating being new to a job.  It’s frustrating being a middle man, when things go wrong, it wasn’t your fault, but yet you are the one thats looked at.  Every job I’ve been when you first start out is rather stressful, and the same situation came to head for me today.  I got a report from someone, sent it on its way, and it was wrong.  Now I feel as if I got someone in trouble and thats not what I was set out to do.  What a way to make friends here Ang! Advice to all you out there: If you can help it, don’t make a career move and change of residency all at once.  It doesn’t mess well w/brain cells :)

I’m half looking foward to Arizona, hoping everything runs smoothly. Heather called to tell me she’s in Denver this week and flying back a few hours AFTER I’m already in, and to add, she’s not sure if the Tegan and Sara tickets went through right as she accidently deleted the email with all the information.  At this point, I’m hoping for at least 50’s and sun.  I could really use it these days.

This weekend was a very challening weekend with me.  Yesterday I ate something, and was paying for it pretty much for the entire afternoon and into the early evening.  I dont think my body can handle pancakes anymore.  I was hurled over in pain and couldn’t move for hours. Mom was about ready to take me in since nothing was helping. Phew, it felt like my insides were at war with each other.  Luckily, I’m fine today.

Still no best buy

Day 17 since I called Best Buy and they said my $35 was on its way and still nothing :(.  Sarah said even if I got it this weekend, I wouldn’t have enough time to upload all the stuff on it by Thursday.  Soo…looks like I need some AA like the good ole’ days.  Current temp in Phoenix: 52 degrees at 12:43pm.  (eeks!)  I have completely o.d.’ed on my life right now and tonight I want to go see Syrnia and get Hungry Howie’s Pizza.  I’m going home this weekend to get a few summer clothes and suitcase.  Thats about as exciting as it gets folks!

Not much.

Not much going on today.  Literally.  Last night I was super tired and Steve and I plowed through another disc of Six Feet Under and than called in a night.  Neal called to say they didn’t go on until last (after midnite) so I was bummed I just couldn’t make it out.  Today I’ve had 13 checks come to make copies of and hand to someone.  Thats about all I’ve had to do today/Noon already.  Tonight I’m going to shovel the driveway and wash the hardwood floors and SLEEP!! Just can’t get enough of it :)

Wanting to die.

Oh my am I a tired and cranky person today.  Last night I picked Amy up and we headed to Saginaw. Her parents did not know she was in town.  As we were near flint on I-75, amy says “I think thats my parents van”. Sure enough! What a small world.  We laughed the whole way home.

We went to Sullivan’s to eat and then headed over to Molly’s. Thank Goodness I asked her if she would drive seperate or it could have been an even later night. Thanks to Kacia, Amy, Jenny, Eddy, Sarah, Brad, Elaine, Jeremy and Mol for coming out. I really apreciated it.  What happened to the rest? :).

TFP had a great show and then banana convention came on. They were awesome. I wish I could have stayed for more than 3 songs, but am regretting I stayed that long.  On the way home, Amy and I were gabbing and I missed my exit for US-23 and got about 20 min. off course.  Amy was about 1/2 hour out as well and low fuel light/had to stop for gas, it took about  2 1/2 hours to get home.   No more shows for Angie on a weekday when they are not in the same city I live in.  I’m exhausted.  I got home,  had trouble sleeping and literally my alarm was going off at 7 and it felt like I *just* went to bed.  I’m exhausted.  I can’t hardly keep my eyes open and my eyes are blurry as I”m trying to read what I typed.  I’m hoping nobody talks to me or I am in fear I may snap or honestly burst into tears ..I just can’t do 3 1/2 hours of sleep anymore since my early 20’s…. and its only Tuesday…must go home and nap at 5.

No best buy gift card either.. and its been since 1/6 when I called them last.  Looks like I might not even have my ipod for the 3 hr plane ride now…

Pretty good weekend…

Back to Monday. It feels like Friday was just here—that much closer to Arizona.  I’m excited to get into some sun and warmth!  There’s no sun today and looks like some flurries in the forecast.  Friday Amy and I went to see Zoos of Berlin at the Magic Stick.  We got there and were the only ones there.  Later, there was about 40 people, but the place was pretty empty for a Friday night… The band wasn’t terrible.  They just didnt’ sound much like their studio stuff that they have on their myspace page.  They played a couple tunes I liked, but overall, it wasn’t completely what I thought it to be like.  The next band (so forgettible I dont remember their names–two girls names).  It was 2 girls and 3 guys.  It was their first gig.  how they got it at the stick is kinda weird, since they said they only had 2-3 songs.  Zoos ended up going first because they were late.  This band, even sang happy bday to one of their friends TWICE just to kill some time since the set list was so extremely short.  Amy & I decided to cut out since we just weren’t “feeling it”.  Saturday, Amy & I met up with Mindy and her friend to go to a trunk show.  I was thinking it would be girls modeling bride’s dresses, but not the case.  They just meant their dresses were on sale during that time.  Mindy and Jenn got what they needed and then I went home. Saturday, Porchsleeper gave their best show ever.  They even got yelled out for an encore.  Zac, you will be missed!!! I’ll post pictures tomorrow.   Sunday there wasn’t anything going on, so I went home for the day.  My Uncle’s Bday was yesterday so we went to dinner and I headed out.

I can’t wait for tonight.  TFP is in Saginaw! They haven’t ever played there and not sure when they will again since they have a pretty booked month until April.   I can’t wait!
